to our project page! After over 7 decades of absence from the public scene, the majestic sounds of the most powerful musical instrument ever produced will once again be heard in Lexington, Kentucky! A dedicated group of volunteers has begun the massive project of renovating and reinstalling the Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ in the Kentucky Theater in downtown Lexington. Please take some time to look around and learn about our project! Please check back often as we will be updating our web page as the project progresses! KMW-TOP is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt Kentucky Corporation. This project seeks to restore and reinstall Lexington's only surviving theatre pipe organ (organ console and project exhibit are now on display in the Singletary Center for the Arts lobby at the University of Kentucky) into the historic Kentucky Theater in downtown Lexington. Cultural events to be conducted by KMW-TOP include daily mini-concerts between movies, an annual 4-concert subscription series, and educational curriculum programs with area schools and universities. This new preservation project will be a significant living museum for cinematic history for our state and the nation! Thanks for visiting the KMW-TOP Web Site!
